Track replacement will affect four Astoria-bound N train stops from early Saturday through Sunday night. Here are the stations and the MTA’s transfer advice.
Quick heads-up if you’re taking the N around Astoria this weekend: the MTA has track replacement planned, and four Astoria-bound stops will be skipped from early Saturday through Sunday night. If your plans include 30 Av or Broadway, leave a little extra time.
From 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, Astoria-bound N trains will skip 39 Av-Dutch Kills, 36 Av, Broadway and 30 Av.
The MTA’s current service notice says to take the N to Astoria Blvd and transfer to a Manhattan-bound N if you’re going to one of those stops. If you’re leaving one, take the N to Queensboro Plaza and transfer to an Astoria-bound N.
For anyone driving into Long Island City, NYC DOT’s current preliminary weekend traffic advisory lists a closure on 50th Avenue between 23rd and 25th Streets from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Sunday for crane work. That’s in LIC rather than Astoria proper. The advisory is still marked preliminary, so check the city’s page again before driving.
The National Weather Service forecast for Astoria calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 83 today, with a 30 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Tonight could bring showers through around 2 a.m. Saturday looks mostly sunny near 70, and Sunday has a 40 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m., with a high near 66.
